She closed her eyes and took his hand as he led her through the woods. The snow crunched under their feet as they walked together, and the wind whistled through the trees. They stopped, and he let go of her hand. He told her she could open her eyes; and when she did, he was on one knee in front of her. And he had a ring.
It had taken her dad a month to convince her to meet Nathan, but she finally relented one day and brought him lunch where he and Nathan were working together on house construction. Later that week he came to their house for dinner, and Heather knew that night that they would be married.
On the 18th of December, it snowed. 12 inches. Heather thought their date was canceled for that night, but Nathan had different ideas. She’d always wanted to be married on her aunt’s property in the woods, but Nathan knew she had given up on the idea because they couldn’t have a small wedding. So instead, he decided to propose there. It would be the next best thing, he decided, and he was right. Heather definitely thought it was.
They were married exactly nine months later, on the 18th of September. But the story doesn’t end here. It’s still being written, and they’ve had seven years together. Two adorable children. They’re still just as much in love as they were on that snowy day in December, and I think these pictures show that beautifully. Heather and Nathan, thank you so much for allowing me to document your love for each other! You two inspire and remind me why I love what I do.
Enjoy some of my favorites from their love shoot.
