It was the day of the long-awaited styled shoot. It was going to be perfect. Blue tulle skirt? Check. Flower crown? You got it. Floral bouquet? Yes ma’am. And my model, Cecelia couldn’t wait. But my heart sank to bottomless depths when I woke up that morning. Instead of bright sunny skies like I was hoping for, I saw dense, dark clouds. I fretted most of the morning, finally resigning myself to a shoot without glowy backlighting. It’s okay, I told myself. I can manage.
But then, providentially, the sun broke through the clouds. Slowly it pushed them apart until we were left with gorgeous, clear-blue skies. It couldn’t be more perfect.
When it came time for the shoot and Cecelia pulled up, she made the day even sunnier with her infectious smile, beautiful blue eyes, and enthusiasm. I always get excited for a photoshoot – and especially a long awaited one – but when you pair that with a bubbly, enthusiastic model, my own excitement is multiplied.
I am very excited now to show y’all these pictures! Cecelia and I tramped through marshy stream banks, climbed around on crazy inclines, almost got shocked by electric fences, and nearly choked on the multitude of gnats – but it was all worth it! Besides having so much fun in the process, we got some really gorgeous pictures.
Sadly, I can’t show you all of them – it would take you a good while to look at them all – but I pulled out my very favorites. And I think you’ll agree with me that even if it’d been a cloudy day, Cecelia would have glowed enough to make up for any lack of sun.
