JADE AND CORY ARE GETTING MARRIED! January wouldn’t have been my first choice for an engagement shoot, but they needed pictures for their save-the-dates for their WEDDING in OCTOBER! So we decided on Max Patch – a bald mountain on the TN border, about an hour north of Asheville. Max Patch is supposed to 1) be accessible in winter and 2) have an incredible view.
Well, I don’t think Jade and Cory OR I will ever forget this shoot for a long, long time. We started out driving in sunny, 45-50 degree weather…until the road went gravel, started ascending, and lost cell service. The road was windy, slippery, and steep. My dad drove me because it was so far and we thought it might be icy, and as we got to one curve, it was almost blocked by 2 cars. Turns out a lady got stuck and my dad and Cory got out of their cars to push her out. Unbeknownst to each other, we were following Jade and Cory all the way up the mountain! Finally I got some cell service and I texted them, “Are y’all in a gold jeep?” Sure enough. 😄
We FINALLY got to the parking lot without slipping off the mountain and got out. I was thrilled because – Jade and Cory are just the perfect Aria Photo couple! Look at them, y’all, they’re so adorable. ❤ Despite the frigid temps, we hiked up to the summit…which was covered in a snow cloud so there was no view to see! We tramped around in the snow and got some really amazing shots, and I’m in love with these wintry snow photos. 😊 ❤
Jade and Cory, where do I begin? Your infectious love for each other warmed my heart in spite of the freezing cold temperatures at your shoot! I am beyond excited to have the honor of being your wedding photographer this fall, and am so excited for your new adventure together. I hope you guys enjoy just a few of my favorites from your shoot last weekend! ❤
