One thing you may not know about me – is that I love castles, cosplay, and fantasy.

I’ve had a dream of doing a photoshoot at a castle – specifically a Rennaisance-theme photoshoot – for a while now, and a few months back I decided to make it reality. I originally wanted to shoot at Ha Ha Tonka Ruins – but they are pretty well gated off now so I started looking around for other options.

I stumbled upon Chateau Charmant in Fordland, which is about 45 minutes from Springfield (make a note, future brides – as this is an incredible venue) and was enthralled! I knew this was the setting for my dream shoot. I asked my friend Sage and her husband Micah to model for me, as I knew they would be perfect – and they were.

This photoshoot of mine has a storyline – it is a tale of forbidden love. A princess, perhaps, or the daughter of a nobleman, and a humble minstrel. Perhaps he is employed by her father to entertain them. They fall in love over a shared love of music, and secretly spend time together, but one day, she is betrothed to another.

So, they plot their escape, and flee the castle and everything the princess ever knew, to a new life together.
